copycat Red Lobster biscuits

  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk + 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • *for the topping*
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley
  1. Preheat the oven to 450F, and line two baking sheets with parchment; set aside.
  2. In a small cup, mix together the milk and vinegar and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, salt, and sugar. Mix in the melted butter and milk mixture until just combined, then gently mix in the cheese.
  4. Scoop out ¼ cup portions of batter onto the baking sheet, setting them about 2-3 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and fluffy.
  6. Remove biscuits from oven, and while they cool, prepare the topping. Whisk together the melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley, and use a pastry brush to brush the tops of the biscuits.
  7. Let cool slightly and enjoy!
