meringata {Italian hot fudge sundaes}

Ingredients

  • 4-8 scoops of vanilla ice cream {depending on how big you want your sundaes}
  • 1 cup crushed meringue cookies
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips {the darker the better}
  • ¼ cup half & half or heavy cream

Instructions

  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and half & half. Microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring, until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  • Prepare 4 bowls, putting 1 or 2 scoops of ice cream in each.
  • Cover with a generous amount of crushed meringues, then top with the fudge sauce.
  • Serve immediately!
