Hi! Yes you can definitely make the frosting in advance, I would just make sure it will be at room temperature when you are ready to frost as it tends to be really hard when cold. I have never had an issue transporting cakes, honestly! If you assemble it and let it hang out for a few hours in the fridge, the frosting solidifies quite well and it's pretty sturdy. 🙂

Thanks for sharing this! I’m thinking of making it this weekend, but I’m worried about transporting it once assembled. I’m considering making all of the pieces in advance and assembling on site. Can the frosting be made advance?
