Ingredients

  • ½ lb lean ground beef {I used 93/7}
  • ½ small onion chopped
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • garlic powder onion powder, paprika, chili powder, and salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mild cheddar
  • H-E-B Texas Dippers corn chips to serve

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the olive oil and chopped onion. Turn heat onto medium-high, and cook until onion has softened.
  • Add in the ground beef and spices, and cook until meat is browned and no longer pink. If using a fattier meat, drain the excess fat.
  • Add in the tomato sauce, turn heat onto low, and cover. Let the chili simmer for 30-45 minutes, until thickened.
  • When ready to serve, transfer the chili to an oven-safe container, and top with the cheese. Place under the broiler for a couple of minutes to melt the cheese, and serve immediately with H-E-B Texas Dippers corn chips. Enjoy!
