Special K Bars

Ingredients

  • 6 cups original Special K cereal
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 12 oz creamy peanut butter {most of a regular jar}
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • First, prepare a 9x13 pan by either lining it with wax paper or spraying with nonstick spray. Set aside.
  • In a large nonstick pot, combine the sugar and corn syrup.
  • Turn the heat on medium-low, and whisk the mixture continuously until the sugar dissolves and the syrup is smooth and lump-free.
  • Add in the peanut butter, and whisk until smooth.
  • Add in all of the cereal, and mix into peanut butter-sugar mixture, crushing flakes slightly as you go.
  • Immediately pour mixture into your prepared pan. You can use a spoon or spatula sprayed with nonstick spray to help you smooth it down and even it out.
  • Now, prepare the topping. Place the chocolate chips in a small nonstick pan, and heat over medium heat, whisking continuously until melted and smooth.
  • Immediately pour the chocolate over the prepared bars, smoothing it down and evening it out.
  • Place bars in fridge for at least one hour before serving. Cut into pieces and enjoy!
