    wedding pinspiration: colors

    Sep 24, 2015 · Leave a Comment

Hello, friends! So, I've decided that since I'm now engaged {!!!!} and I've been partaking in massive amounts of pinning things on Pinterest, I would share what I've been finding and liking! Since this is the first of the series, I thought I would start with the basics... colors! At this point, I've pretty much decided on a theme that's maroon, gold, and cream, but I thought it would be fun to look at other colors I initially considered, too. Well, let's start with the current favorite:

maroon wedding inspiration | The Baking Fairy

Maroon! As an Aggie, I have a deep, profound, obnoxious love for maroon. While I didn't initially plan on this being the theme of my wedding, I've really come to love it! I'm thinking a maroon and cream theme with some gold touches will be seriously cute, and the colors are perfect for a fall wedding. Maroon bridesmaid dresses with sparkly gold shoes, a creamy white tablescape with some maroon and white flowers {and surely some gold touches here and there}, and my personal favorite... the gold sequin cake! Oh, I'm just in love with it. I found a tutorial and I'm thinking that cake is gonna happen soon just cause I want to make it. That's totally an appropriate birthday cake, right?

Another color scheme I really liked initially was mint, with small touches of gold and pink. I promised my fiance' we wouldn't have an all-pink wedding, but I'm thinking he would accept it as an accent color, right? I super, duper, obsessively adore the table settings in the top right corner, especially the gold glittered spoon! Again, maybe something I need for my private blog collection rather than my wedding, but whatever. And, of course, you can't have a mint wedding without some mint-related puns... it's just mint to be! Ha ha haaaa. Okay, sorry, I'll stop now. 😉

Okay, okay, I know what you're thinking. A GOLD wedding? You obnoxious woman, you. I'll have you know I have never planned to have an entirely gold wedding, but well, everything was so pretty that I just had to make a mood board for it! And since my current plan is to have maroon with gold touches, this is a pretty little source of inspiration. I seriously love the big chunky chalkboard frame, and the sparkly bridesmaid dresses will always have a special place in my heart. And well, okay, I can't deny that I'm kind of obsessed with those gold glitter donuts. They're just so pretty!

Okay, and then... last but not least, this totally obnoxious, colorful, bright mood board! I would probably never actually do this because it's a little much {yes, even for me}, but this was a lot of fun to put together. Rainbow bouquets! Watercolor invitations! And is that... a rainbow sprinkle sendoff? Yes, yes it is. Who needs plain white rice when you can throw sprinkles at the newlyweds?! If we're being honest, I still may or may not do that regardless of my wedding colors 😉

Well, I hope y'all  had fun today looking at my crazy ideas! I will try to have another wedding post up in a week or so. I'm trying to decide what the theme should be. Flowers? Cakes? Bridesmaid dresses?! I don't even know. We shall see. 🙂 In the meanwhile, you can follow my insane pinning addiction HERE!
