    Hiiii friends and happy FIRST FRIDAY of the new year! I've missed y'all! Seems like I haven't been on here since 2018 😉 I have so many amazing things planned for you guys this year, as well as big changes for me. My wedding is in March, so definitely expect more wedding things to be shared on the blog as the big day gets closer! I am also currently doing #Veganuary for January which is super exciting. So for this month, this blog is strictly VEGAN RECIPES ONLY! But feel free to peruse the archives for everything else your heart may desire 🙂 To kick things off, I am sharing this Dirty Earl Grey Latte for a nice hefty punch of caffeine to start the year!

    I know the name "dirty Earl Grey latte" doesn't sound especially appetizing, but trust me, the other option was "Dirty London Fog" which sounded even worse!! ? The original version of this drink would be a dirty chai, which is chai tea latte with a shot of espresso added in. Personally, I love Earl Grey tea the best so I changed it up to my own preference! This is exactly what it sounds like, a warm and creamy tea latte with a punchy espresso shot thrown in for good measure. And I promise it REALLY works! I made this in the afternoon around 5 and thought nothing of drinking it... and then I wasn't able to fall asleep til 3 AM. GOOD TIMES.?

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup unsweetened nondairy milk {can also use dairy}
    • 1 Earl Grey tea bag
    • 1 espresso shot
    • 1-2 Stevia bags or 3-4 teaspoon sugar to taste

    Instructions

    • First, heat the milk in a microwave safe mug for about 2 minutes, until very hot.
    • Add in the Earl Grey tea bag, and steep for 3-5 minutes.
    • While the tea steeps, prepare your espresso shot. You can also brew a small, concentrated K-cup or about ¼ cup with French press if you do not have an espresso machine.

      I'm not big on chai, so I love your version. Earl Grey is my tea of choice! I look forward to trying this recipe this winter.

      I don't usually drink lattes but this sounds so warm and comforting. I need to try it plus the pick me up would be a bonus.
