    hot chocolate on a stick | The Baking Fairy

    Hello my loves! Christmas is quickly approaching, so I wanted to share this quick and easy gift idea with y'all while you still have time to make it! This is hot chocolate on a stick, and it's basically the best thing ever. All you need to do is add one of these to a mug of hot, steamy milk, and you instantly have an amazing cup of hot chocolate! Or, if you're a serious chocolate lover, you can use one of these to make a mug of box-mix hot chocolate extra rich and creamy. People will love getting these little treats, and they are the perfect addition to any Christmas cookie box or sweets plate! Did I mention these only take 2 ingredients and like 10 minutes? Let's get to work.

    I love the classic combination of {dark} chocolate and marshmallows, so that's what I went with, but you can totally use any kind of chocolate you'd like! Milk chocolate or white chocolate would be just as good, especially if paired with some crushed candy canes for a festive twist. Or you could always top your little chocolate disks with trusty sprinkles! They have yet to let me down, and they make everything look so cute! Let's be real, who wouldn't want sprinkles in their drink? Oh, and in case you are wondering {and I bet you are}, I found the tiny hot cocoa mix type marshmallows at the store right by the regular marshmallows! They come in a little shaker that looks like the fake shredded Parmesan cheese. You know, the kind you secretly use all the time but don't want anyone to know? Yep. That one. I'm sure you'll be able to recognize it. This hot chocolate on a stick is so much fun to make, and so easy to customize! Make these treats for all your friends, and make their holiday season just a little bit sweeter. Happy making! 🙂

    Recipe type: Candy
    Serves: 12 sticks
    Ingredients
    • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
    • ½ cup mini marshmallows
    • nonstick spray
    • paper straws
    Instructions
    1. In a small bowl, heat the chocolate chips in the microwave in 20 second intervals until smooth and creamy.
    2. Spray a mini muffin pan with nonstick spray, then fill cups about ½ of the way with melted chocolate. Insert paper straws in the center of the cups {you might need to hold onto them for a minute until the chocolate solidifies enough to hold them up!}
    3. Sprinkle mini marshmallows on each cup, then transfer pan to fridge and cool off until completely solidified.
    4. When solid, carefully remove cups from muffin pan by gently twisting the straw. They should pop right out!
    5. Stir the chocolate straws into hot milk to create instant hot chocolate!
