Back to school season is upon us! Oh, the horror. At least, for those of us who have school πŸ˜‰ I'm sure all the moms are jumping with joy right about now. I know my mom is! While the transition of returning to school after a few months vacation {or one whole, blissful week} can be rough, some little things can make the adjustment a little sweeter. A delicious snack in your lunch bag is definitely one of those things! TheseΒ Nutella Rice Krispie TreatsΒ combine everyone's two favorite indulgences into one mind-blowing Frankenstein of deliciousness.

Personally, I love the classic rice krispie treats, and there's nothing quite like sneaking bits of warm, gooey marshmallow and cereal as you're cooking. Mmmm. They say you shouldn't mess with perfection, and I'm not... I'm just improving it a bit πŸ˜‰ The only extra step you have to do for these is swirl in a giant, generous spoonful into your traditional rice krispie treats mix, and you're done! Easy peasy. If you thought the best thing in the world was biting into a fresh cereal treat, I'm here to tell you you're wrong. The actual best thing ever is biting into a freshΒ Nutella cereal treat!

I imagine packing this in your child's lunch would guarantee Mom superstar status! While you can easily whip this treat up in a few minutes, it's simple enough that the kids can help. It's a great way to get your kids just a little bit more excited about school starting again. Even if you're just a kid at heart, a rice krispie treat is guaranteed to make you smile! This is the quintessential lunchbox snack, and it couldn't be simpler to make. I hope my upgraded Nutella rice krispie treats will make an appearance in your brown bag sometime this school year! Happy cooking!

You had me at Nutella! What a great addition to a rice krispie treat and one I know the kids would love. I know I would if I was still a lunch box carrying kid!

am definitely going to give this a try but I think I'll stir in the nutella to the melted marshmallows before I add the cereal otherwise there's no way I can imagine getting the nutella evenly distributed through all the cereal / marshmallow mixture ?
