Heyyyy friends and happy Thursday! Today, I am sharing one of the prettiest little things I've made recently and I am SO. ob.sessed. This Ginger Rum Plum Smash Cocktail takes like, 3 minutes to make and it's super light and refreshing! All you need are some fresh plums, rum, and ginger ale. That's it! It's perfect for summer entertaining and it'll make you look like a true bartending pro. And also - THAT COLOR. I die. Let's go make some!

As you may know if you follow me on Instagram and/or watch my IG stories, I have a plum tree in my yard that has been working OVERTIME this summer! It has made so many tiny, beautiful plums and we've been trying our best to use them as fast as possible. I did make a pie the other week {but the crust was a nightmare and it was deemed NOT blog worthy}, but I've been itching to make a smash cocktail and I knew my baby plums would work so well! A smash cocktail is really very simple, and there are tons of variations online because there are like... no rules. Pick a fruit, smash it up {with an herb if desired}, add some alcohol and top off with something fizzy. And that's it! Time to enjoy!

So in other news!! I am hoping to have some wedding updates and wedding posts going up soon! I have my one lone wedding post from a very long time ago with my color inspo but now things are actually happening and I am booking vendors, kicking butt, and taking names. So that deserves a blog post 😉 Maybe I'll even do a post about how to plan a wedding while in school because it is no easy feat, y'all. That may be why I've been posting so many drinks like this plum smash cocktail lately ? Though to be totally honest, I have been falling back on cocktail recipes a lot because they are so fast to make and photograph beautifully. True #lazyblogger over here.

I hope you guys will make this ginger rum plum smash cocktail sometime this summer! It really is so easy -the ingredients and directions are all in the name already 😉 If you're feeling fancy, feel free to add a bit of fresh ginger to oomph it up, too! I'd love to know how that turns out!

Hmm, I've never tried using plums in mixing up cocktails. I'll definitely check your recipe and serve this the next time our friends come over. Thanks for sharing.
